Gherardeschi, Filippo Maria

Gherardeschi, Filippo Maria (1738–1808)

Italian composer. He was a pupil of Padre Martini at Bologna 1756–61, and became maestro di cappella at the cathedrals of Volterra and Pistoia, and finally, from about 1766 to his death, at San Stefano in Pisa. He was also music director to the court of the Grand Duke of Tuscany.
