Giannini, Dusolina (1900–1986)

US soprano, and the sister of Vittorio Giannini. She made her stage debut in Hamburg, in 1925, as Aïda, and repeated the role at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, in 1929. She sang Donna Anna at Salzburg under Walter, and Alice Ford under Toscanini. She appeared at the New York Metropolitan Opera House 1936–41, and at the New York City Opera 1941–44, as Carmen, Santuzza, and Tosca. She sang Carmen at the Vienna Staatsoper in 1950 and retired in 1962.
