Gibbs, (Ian) Scott (1971– )| Welsh rugby player who has represented Wales at both rugby union and rugby league. A short but powerfully built centre three-quarters, renowned for his tough tackling and strong, elusive running, he made his international debut in 1991, and soon established himself as one of the best talents in the game. He went on the 1993 British Lions tour of New Zealand, but in 1994 joined rugby league side St Helens. He represented Wales in the 1995 rugby league World Cup and helped St Helens to win the inaugural Super League title in 1996, before returning to the union code. In 1997 he toured South Africa with the British Lions and for his performances in the three Test matches he was named Man of the Series. In May 1999 he helped Swansea to win the SWALEC Cup and led them to the Welsh-Scottish league title in 2001. |

| Born in Bridgend, he played for Pencoed and then Neath before joining Swansea in 1992. He rejoined Swansea in 1996 after the ban on professionalism in rugby union was lifted. |
