Gimenez, Raul (1950– )

Argentine tenor. He made his debut in Buenos Aires in 1980, as Ernesto, and his European debut at Wexford in 1984, in Cimarosa's Astuzie Femminili. His US debut was at Dallas, in 1989, as Ernesto. He performed at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, from 1990 as Almaviva, Ernesto, and Ramiro. He made his debut at the Vienna Staatsoper in 1990, as Almaviva, and at La Scala in 1993, as Argirio in Tancredi. He is an outstanding lyric tenor.
