Giordani, Tommaso (c. 1730–1806)

Italian composer. The son of a travelling opera impresario, he produced his first opera with his father's company in London, England, in 1756. He subsequently lived chiefly in London (he was director at the King's Theatre, Haymarket 1768–83) and Dublin, Ireland, and composed a large number of theatrical works for both cities. He was unrelated to either Carmine or Giuseppe Giordani.
