Giove in Argo

Opera by Antonio Lotti (libretto by A M Lucchini), first produced at the Redoutensaal, Dresden, Germany, on 25 October 1717, the new opera house not being ready. The latter was opened with the same work on 3 September 1719. (An English adaptation of the same libretto, under the title Jupiter in Argos, was set by Handel and first produced at the King's Theatre, London, England, on 1 May 1739.)
