Glengarriff

Village and resort in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, 17 km/11 mi northwest of Bantry; population (2002) 600. The luxuriant Mediterranean flora in sheltered areas is due to the influence of the Gulf Stream which flows past. Garnish Island, which lies opposite Glengarriff, has botanical gardens.

George Bernard Shaw wrote the play St Joan 1923 on Garnish Island.

A couple of pleasant surprises emerged from this year's OPTIMA Award ceremony, in which the unique trophy was conferred upon Glengariff Health Care Center in Glen Cove, Long Island.
The Glengariff Nursing Home, which is located on Dosoris Lane in Glen Cove, was constructed in 1975 and included the renovation of the Pratt Mansion.
Among subacute patients, you're going to see more [pressure ulcers] because they are admitted with them, usually from an acute setting," says Frances Regan, RN, director of nursing for the Glengariff Health Care Center in Glen Cove, New York, a 262-bed facility with 81 subacute beds.
