Glens Falls

City in Warren County, east New York State, USA, 72 km/45 mi north of Albany and south of lakes George and Champlain; population (2000) 14,400. It is situated beside a waterfall on the Hudson River. Its industries include clothing, paper, electrical equipment, machinery parts, insurance, and tourism. Glens Falls is home to the Hyde art collection and to Adirondack Community College (1960).

The site was developed in the 1760s by Quakers, who built timber, paper, and textile mills here; it was incorporated as a city in 1908.
