Glenville

Residential neighbourhood in Cleveland, Ohio. It is situated on Lake Erie, northeast of Cleveland city centre and adjacent to suburban East Cleveland. A middle-class black area of detached single-family homes, it achieved notoriety as the site of a shoot-out between community activists and police in 1968 that sparked two days of rioting in the city.

Glenville

Small town and administrative headquarters of Gilmer County, central West Virginia; population (1990) 1,900. It is situated on the Little Kanawha River, 64 km/38 mi southwest of Clarksburg. Glenville State College (1872) is in the town.
