Glossop, Peter (1928- )

English baritone. He sang with the Sadler's Wells Theatre, London, 1953-62, as Onegin, Scarpia, and Luna, and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, from 1961 as Demetrius, Posa, Iago, and Boccanegra. His New York Metropolitan Opera House debut was in 1967, as Rigoletto, and his other roles included Falstaff, Billy Budd, and Renato. His Iago was admired at Salzburg.
