Glover, Danny (1947– )

US film and stage actor. A versatile character actor, equally adept at both comedy and drama, he has played a range villains and heroes in both mainstream and independent films. He made his film debut in Places in the Heart (1984), and gained his first major success in the screen adaptation of The Color Purple (1985). He is probably best known for the Lethal Weapon series of films. In 1998 he starred in Beloved, based on the novel by the US writer Toni Morrison.

He was born in San Francisco, California.
