Glushchenko, Fedor (1944- )

Russian conductor. He studied in Moscow and Leningrad and was appointed chief conductor of the Karelian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Finland, in 1971. He was also chief conductor of the Ukrainian State Symphony Orchestra. He appeared as a guest conductor throughout Russia, and made his British debut with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in 1989, returning with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He gave frequent concerts with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in Manchester.
