Gnadenhutten

Small town in Tuscarawas County, east-central Ohio; population (1990) 1,200. It is situated on the Tuscarawas River, 13 km/8 mi south of New Philadelphia. A state historical park recalls the 1782 massacre here at a Moravian mission of 96 Christian Delaware American Indians by militiamen.
