Gnecchi, Vittorio (1876–1954)

Italian composer. He studied music in Milan. His first opera, given in Bologna in 1905, was at the centre of great controversy in 1909, when Richard Strauss's opera Elektra appeared and showed striking similarities to Gnecchi's music.
