NASA field centre at Greenbelt, Maryland, responsible for the development and operation of uncrewed scientific satellites, including the Hubble Space Telescope and the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES). Goddard is also the home of the National Space Science Data Center, a repository of data collected by satellites. Established in 1959 as NASA's first space flight centre, the Goddard complex now consists of 50 buildings.
