GodthåbCapital and largest town of Greenland, on the Godthåbsfjord; population (2003 est) 14,100. Godthåb is the seat of the national council and of the supreme court. It is a storage centre for oil and gas, and the chief industry is fish processing. The surrounding region has fine pastures and supports reindeer herds.
