Goff, Bruce Alonzo

    0.02 sec.

Goff, Bruce Alonzo (1904–1982)

US architect. His work is frequently described as ‘organic’ in form. Initially influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, he later developed a highly individual approach, characterized by unlikely combinations of materials and styles. His most striking project is the Bavinger House, Oklahoma, 1949, composed of a spiralling wall of stone with a steel mast at its centre; ‘living bowls’ and a staircase are suspended from the mast.

Although poetic in the expression of free-flowing space, the quality of his executed designs has been criticized.
