Goldberg, Johann Gottlieb (1727–1756)

German harpsichordist, possibly a pupil of Wilhelm Friedemann Bach and Johann Sebastian Bach. The latter allegedly wrote the ‘Goldberg Variations’ (published 1741/2) for him, when he was only 15.
