Goldblum, Jeff Lynn (1952- )| US film actor. He is known for his ironic delivery, and often plays scientists and sceptics, for example in such films as The Fly (1986) and Jurassic Park (1993). Goldblum had his first breakthrough into the cinema in the early 1970s, going on to work for independent directors such as Robert Altman in The Player (1992), before becoming associated with some of the biggest blockbusters in film history - Independence Day (1996) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) |
| Goldblum was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and studied acting in New York. While many of his roles have seen him playing a comic role - Nashville (1975), Earth Girls Are Easy (1989) - Goldblum has also proved himself adept at portraying the psychologically disturbed, the obsessive, and the paranoiac in such dramas as El sueño del mono loco/The Mad Monkey (1990) and Deep Cover (1992). In 2001 he provided one of the voices for the animated film Cats and Dogs. |
