Golden Horseshoe

Popular name for the area in south Ontario, Canada, which extends around the west end of Lake Ontario, from Oshawa in the northeast through metropolitan Toronto to Hamilton in the southwest and then east to St Catharine's. It contains much of the nation's industry and over 20% of its population.
