Goldschmidt, Otto (1829–1907)

German pianist and composer. He studied at the Leipzig Conservatory under Felix Mendelssohn and in 1848 went to Paris, France, intending to study with Chopin. In 1849 he went to London, England, and settled there in 1858. He was accompanist to the singer Jenny Lind, whom he married in 1852. He was the founder of the Bach Choir in 1875.
