Goodman, Morris (1925- )

US physical anthropologist. A pioneer in molecular anthropology, he was associated with several midwestern medical institutions before joining Wayne State University (1966). His comparative immunological research on primate proteins demonstrated the close genetic similarity of humans to gorillas and chimpanzees. Goodman's globin, enzyme, and DNA nucleotide sequencing studies have advanced and clarified the evolutionary classification of primates and other animals. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
