Goodrich, Annie W(arburton) (1866-1954)

US nursing educator. She instituted the first bachelor's degree in nursing while dean of the Yale University School of Nursing (1919-34). Her drive and convictions led to the professionalization of nursing training in the USA. Known for her brilliance, wit, and vitality, she was a leader in state and federal nursing organizations. Goodrich was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
