Goodspeed, Edgar Johnson (1871–1962)

US biblical scholar and educator. A distinguished teacher at the University of Chicago (1902–37), he was renowned for his expertise in biblical exegesis and Greek papyrology. His books include New Testament: An American Translation (1923). He was born in Quincy, Illinois.
