Internet search engine that ranks Web pages according to the number of links they have from other pages. It also uses sophisticated text-matching techniques to determine the importance and relevance of a site to a search. As well as searching over 4 billion Web pages for text or images, Google can also search for stories posted to news sites as well as postings to Usenet newsgroups. Google was created in 1998 by Larry Page (1973– ) and Sergei Brin (1973– ), doctoral students at Stanford University, California. The name is a play on the word ‘googol’, referring to the number represented by 1 followed by 100 zeroes.

| Finjan, has informed Google of a dangerous cross site scripting vulnerability on its website, which could have allowed a remote attacker to take over victims' Google Accounts, or fake the website is content in order to deceive end users into downloading malicious content or providing personal and confidential information (known as 'phishing'). Users can receive email notifications for their Yahoo, MSN and Google accounts on the move. That is a dramatic shift when compared to the cumulative traffic since July where Google accounts for only 20 percent. |
