Gordonstoun

Public school near Elgin, Grampian, Scotland, founded by Kurt Hahn in 1935, which emphasizes a spartan outdoor life. It went coeducational in 1972.

Prince Philip and Prince Charles attended Gordonstoun School.

In Queensland, Pacific Coal announced the name change of the Gordonstone coal mine to Kestrel Coal.
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--February 10, 1999--Rio Tinto plc (NYSE: RTP) advises that, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Queensland Coal Pty Limited, it completed its purchase of ARCO Coal's 80 percent interest in the Gordonstone coal mine.
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--October 21, 1998--Rio Tinto plc (NYSE:RTP) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Queensland Coal, has agreed to buy ARCO Coal's 80 per cent interest in the Gordonstone coal mine, in Queensland's Bowen Basin, for a cash consideration of US$150 million.
