Görlitz

Industrial town in the state of Saxony, Germany, on the west bank of the River Neisse; population (1995) 67,100. Products include railway rolling stock, machinery, and precision instruments. The oldest part of the town, on the east bank of the Neisse, was incorporated into Poland in 1945 and is now called Zgorzelec.
