Gorzów Wielkopolski

Industrial town (chemicals, metals, textiles) in Zielona Góra province, Poland, on the River Warta, 57 km/36 mi north of Zielona Góra; population (2002) 125,900. The town, with its 13th-century church, was founded by German settlers 1257, but was assigned to Poland after World War II.
