Goss, John (1800-1880)

English organist and composer. He held various organ appointments before he became organist at St Paul's Cathedral, London, in 1838. Of his many compositions he is now remembered for his hymn tunes for ‘Praise My Soul the King of Heaven’ and ‘See Amid the Winter's Snow’.
