Cotton Plant

City in Woodruff County, northeastern Arkansas, USA, 42 km/26 mi west of Forrest City, in the Mississippi Alluvial Plain east of the White River; population (1990) 1,150. Cotton, corn, hay, and lumber are important to its economy.

Laid out in 1840, it was the site of a Civil War battle on 7 July 1862.
