Gothic Symphony

First symphony by Havergal Brian, for soloists, children's choruses, brass band, and orchestra of 180; the last of the four movements is a setting of the Te Deum. It was composed 1919-27 and first performed by amateur forces in London, England, on 24 June 1961; the first professional performance was given in London on 30 October 1966, to mark Brian's 90th birthday. It was broadcast live to the USA by satellite on 25 May 1980.
