Goudhurst

Village in Kent, England, 16 km/10 mi southeast of Tunbridge Wells; population (2001, Goudhurst and Lamberhurst) 4,700. Goudhurst is situated on a hilltop in the Weald. It has many historic buildings, including a sandstone church, and several tile-hung and weatherboarded houses.

Bedgebury National Pinetum, 4 km/2 mi to the south, was founded in 1924, and has over 3 sq km/1 sq mi of different coniferous trees and shrubs.

Two miles to the west of Goudhurst is Finchcocks, a Georgian manor house built in 1725. It now houses a large collection of historical keyboard instruments.
