Gozzano, Guido Gustavo (1883–1916)

Italian poet. He is the best known of the ironic, melancholic Crepuscular (twilight) poets and clearly shows the influence of Gabriele D'Annunzio and Giovanni Pascoli. He also wrote rhymes and stories for children. His collections are La via del rifugio 1907 and I colloqui 1911.

He was born in Turin. He contracted tuberculosis when he was a law student and spent much time on the Riviera recuperating. He also made a trip to India.
