Grafton

Town in northeast New South Wales, Australia, on the River Clarence, 240 km/149 mi south of Brisbane and 633 km/393 mi northeast of Sydney; population (1996) 16,562. It is the centre for a region producing timber, sugar, bananas, sheep, beef, and dairy products.

Grafton celebrates its jacaranda trees with an annual Jacaranda Festival.

Grafton

Town in Ozaukee County, east Wisconsin; population (1990) 9,300. It is located 27 km/17 mi north of Milwaukee, in an agricultural area. Iron castings, saws, stoves, and yarn are manufactured in the town.
