Graham, Katharine (1917–2001)| US publisher. Following the 1963 suicide of her husband Philip Graham, she became president of a communications empire that included the Washington Post and Newsweek magazine, among several other interests. As the Washington Post publisher (1969–79) she helped broaden the paper's circulation and reputation. |
| Born Katharine Meyer in New York City, her father was the US publisher Eugene Meyer. She published her memoirs, Personal History, in 1997. |
