Grange, Red (Harold Edward) (1903–1991)

US American football player. He joined the Chicago Bears professional football team 1925, becoming one of the first superstars of the newly founded National Football League. In both the 1923 and 1924 seasons he was chosen All-American halfback and won his nickname for his extraordinary open-field running ability.

Born in Forksville, Pennsylvania, USA and raised in Illinois, Grange attended the University of Illinois. He became a charter member of the Football Hall of Fame 1963.
