Grant Park

Name of two famous public parks, in the US cities of Atlanta and Chicago. Situated in the southeast of Atlanta, Grant Park is the site of the ‘Cyclorama’, a huge circular, panoramic painting of the Civil War Battle of Atlanta, and also of the city's zoo. Grant Park near Lake Michigan in Chicago was laid out in 1909 and is home to Buckingham Fountain (a popular gathering place and concert venue), the Field Museum of Natural History, Shedd Aquarium, and Adler Planetarium. The park was the scene of violent clashes between the police and anti-Vietnam War protesters during the infamous Chicago Democratic National Convention of 1968.
