Granton

Port forming part of City of Edinburgh unitary authority, Scotland, situated on the Firth of Forth. It has timber yards, and printing ink and chemical works. A number of shipping lines, in particular freight specialists, are based here.

The port was annexed to Edinburgh in 1900.

In 1975, having resigned from my teaching post, I was appointed to the parish of Kirton with Granton and Saintsbury.
