Granville

Small town in Licking County, central Ohio; population (1990) 4,300. It is located 10 km/6 mi west of Newark. Situated in a diversified farming district, it was settled in the early 19th century by pioneers from Massachusetts. It is home to Denison University, founded in 1831 as the Granville Literary and Theological Institute.
