Graves, Nancy (Stevenson) (1940- )

US sculptor and painter. She is known for her Bactrian camel series of the late 1960s, her biomorphic and moon films (1971-74), camouflage and aerial photo paintings, and also for her fanciful sculptures. Graves was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She studied at Yale School of Art, graduating with a Masters degree in 1964, and worked in Paris (1964-65) and Florence (1965-66), before settling in New York City (1966).
