Grayson

Town and administrative headquarters of Carter County, northeast Kentucky; population (1990) 3,500. It is situated on the Little Sandy River, 32 km/20 mi west-southwest of Ashland, near the Carter and Cascade limestone caves. It has feed and lumber mills, iron and coal mining, clay pits, and brickworks. It is home to the Kentucky Christian College (1919).
