Greaves, Walter (1846–1930)
| English painter. He took to art under the influence of James Whistler, whose assistant he was for nearly 20 years. His most interesting works are the very early ones, such as Hammersmith Bridge on Boat Race Day 1862 (Tate Gallery, London), painted when he was 16. |
