Green Valley

Town in Pima County, south Arizona; population (1990) 13,200. It is situated on the Santa Cruz River, 37 km/23 mi south of Tucson. This retirement community, in a copper producing area, is the site of a former Titan intercontinental missile complex, which is now a museum.

Behind this was a deep green valley, with distinct hills on either side.
It was romantic and mysterious to stand here in the deep gloom and look out upon the green valley shining in the sun.
We had originally intended to go on to Magna Charta Island, a sweetly pretty part of the river, where it winds through a soft, green valley, and to camp in one of the many picturesque inlets to be found round that tiny shore.
