Greenberg, Irving

Greenberg, Irving (1933– )

US rabbi and educator. He was the rabbi of the Riverdale Jewish Center, New York (1965–72). He taught history and Jewish studies at Brandeis University, Yeshiva University, and at the City University of New York (1972–79). In 1979 he became president of CLAL (the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership) in New York. Greenberg was born in New York City. He studied at Harvard University, graduating with a PhD in 1960.
