Newmilns

Village in East Ayrshire unitary authority, Scotland, situated on the River Irvine, 11 km/7 mi east of Kilmarnock; population (2001) 3,100. It incorporates the settlement of Greenholm on the opposite bank of the river. Its textile industries specialize in the manufacture of muslin and lace.
