Village in Essex, England, 8 km/5 mi east of Epping; population (2001) 3,050.

Greensted has a particularly interesting church, built about 845; the walls of its nave are made of split oak tree trunks, with the curve facing outwards.

The body of St Edmund is said to have rested here on the journey to Bury St Edmunds in 1013.
