Greiz

Town in the Land (administrative region) of Thuringia, Germany, at the confluence of the Weisse Elster and Göltzsch rivers, 26 km/16 mi south of Gera; population (1995) 29,900. Light industries include papermaking. Until 1918 it was the capital of one of the Reuss principalities, and has two palaces.
