Grenon, Nicolas

    0.03 sec.

Grenon, Nicolas (c. 1380–1456)

French composer. He wrote sacred Latin music and chansons.

The earliest mention of Grenon is at Paris in 1399. He later worked at Laon and Cambrai cathedrals and at the Burgundian court chapel under Duke John the Fearless. He was master of the choirboys at the papal chapel 1425–27, and finally returned to Cambrai where he was for many years Guillaume Dufay's neighbour and was probably an influence on the younger composer.
