In August, the Chewonki Foundation's environmental education center in Wisacasset, Maine unveiled the nation's first hydrogen back-up system (taking over when grid power fails), and running completely on renewable energy. ``We're thrilled that General Motors is doing its part to alleviate electrical grid power consumption and clean the air at the same time,'' said William A. The KH4, which is currently undergoing internal testing, is designed to provide power for residential and commercial users in situations where grid power is not convenient or not available. |
