Griffin, Marion (born Mahony) (1871–1961)

US architect. She was a designer and delineator for Frank Lloyd Wright (1895–1910), becoming known for her renderings and interior designs and for producing the drawings published in Wright's so-called Wasmuth Portfolio (1910). She subsequently collaborated with her husband Walter Burley Griffin in Australia (1914–35). Although uncredited, she is known to have contributed decisively to the designs for Canberra (1912), Castlecrag Community, Sydney (1921–35), and the Capitol Theatre, Melbourne (1924). After her husband's death she established an independent practice in Chicago (1938). Griffin was born in Chicago, Illinois, and trained at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
